Urgent Appeal: A Very Special Home for Malcolm One tooth. A broken past. Still full of love to give…
This is Malcolm, a gentle, traumatised soul who’s been through more than any dog ever should. He was found alone on the streets, in Northamptonshire severely emaciated, weak, terrified, and utterly defeated. Taken to the pound, Malcolm was placed on the euthanasia list. When we rescued him, His teeth were so rotten and infected that he needed emergency dental surgery, now, he has just one tiny tooth left. Our vets fear Malcolm may have suffered severe beatings in his past, leaving him with signs of slight brain damage. He reacts slowly, gets easily overwhelmed, and sometimes seems confused, but he is not aggressive. He’s simply afraid… and trying his best.
Malcolm just wants love. He creeps in close for a cuddle, then backs off again, unsure if he’s allowed to feel safe. He’s torn between wanting comfort and expecting pain. He’s trying to trust, one small moment at a time. He’s also still healing physically. After such extreme starvation, he must eat small meals throughout the day to help his body recover gently. We estimate Malcolm is between 8 - 11 years old.
Malcolm would thrive in a home that is:
• Calm, quiet, and low-stress
• Free of children or loud environments
• Secure, with a garden
• Shared with an older, gentle female dog, he finds comfort in their presence
• Someone with experience in traumatised or neurologically affected dogs
• Patient, kind, and willing to meet him first and work with him so he can continue healing.
Malcolm isn’t a dog for just anyone. But for someone with a big heart and quiet strength, he could be the most rewarding companion you’ll ever meet. He is sweet. He is trying. And he deserves more than the life he’s had. Please contact us if you feel you can offer Malcolm what he needs. ❤️
